Health & Safety Policy

General Statement

It is the policy of TheWorkwear Ltd. to take all reasonable steps to ensure the health, safety and welfare of its employees and we establish procedures and systems necessary to implement this policy. TheWorkwear Ltd. are committed both to comply, and if possible to exceed,all requirements to which the company subscribes relating to occupational health and safety hazards, including those responsibilities set out in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

TheWorkwear Ltd. provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment aimed at preventing injury and ill health and continually improving health and safety management and performance. Thus, TheWorkwear Ltd. has implemented occupational health and safety management systems based on the requirements of ISO45001:2018. This includes the establishing and maintaining occupational health and safety objectives.

All employees are provided with essential information, equipment, instructions, supervision and training as is necessary to implement this policy and achieve health and safety objectives. This policy is made available to all employees, contractors and all other interested parties.

TheWorkwear Ltd. also meets accepted needs to protect the health and safety of all visitors to Company sites, including contractors and temporary workers, as well as members of the public who might encounter TheWorkwear Ltd. activities and operations.

TheWorkwear Ltd. take every precaution to ensure the health and safety of its employees, recognising that Health and safety at work is also the responsibility of the employees. It is the duty of each employee and contractor to take reasonable care of their own and other people’s welfare and to report any situation which may pose a threat to the well-being of all. If an employee or contractor is unsure as to how to perform a certain task, or feels it would be dangerous to perform a specific job, then it is that individuals responsibility to report this to the Director responsible for Safety. As an effective health and safety program requires continuous communication between workers at all levels, we provide:

  • A safe system of work and safety awareness re plant and practical equipment
  • Safe instruction in the means of handling, transporting articles, substances and people
  • Appropriate training, instruction, information and supervision
  • A safe place of work with secure and protected access and egress
  • A safe, secure and healthy environment and adequate welfare facilities
  • Clear communication and co-operation of workers throughout the company
  • A commitment to meet all legal and necessary requirements
  • A commitment to crucial controls re Health and Safety Risks
  • A commitment to the prevention to ill health and injury

All injuries, however minimal, sustained by a person at work must be reported. Accident records are essential to the effective monitoring and revision of the policy and must be accurately and comprehensively recorded. An accident book is located in the workshop and the administration office. A review of the accident books is undertaken every quarter.
